Suspect Arrested in Hollywood Stabbing Death

The suspect is being held on $1 million bond.

A 29-year-old man was arrested by homicide detectives today on suspicion of stabbing another man to death in a parking lot in Hollywood.

The body of the victim, in his late 20s, was discovered about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of North Cherokee Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

“Officers arrived and saw one victim down and a witness providing first aid,” according to a police statement. “The Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the victim dead at the scene.”

A witness told investigators that a man stabbed the victim then took the witness’ Ford F150 pickup truck and fled the scene with another male and a female, police said.

The pickup was later found abandoned nearby in the 6800 block of Camrose Drive, according to the LAPD.

West Bureau Homicide detectives responded and quickly identified the suspect as Raymond Jackson of Pacoima, police said.

The FBI’s Fugitive Task Force located Jackson today, along with the two others who fled in the pickup truck, officials said.

Jackson was booked on suspicion of murder with bail set at $1 million. The other two people were questioned and released, police said.

Authorities withheld the victim’s name, pending notification of his relatives.
