🌱 Delgleize, Moser Recalls Fail + Car Crashes Into Taco Surf
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Huntington Beach.

Hello, neighbors, and happy National Pizza Day! It's me again, Sylvia, your host of the Huntington Beach Daily.
Save Surf City didn't get enough signatures for Delgleize and Moser recalls, but hope to do better with the other ones. Also, why do cars keep crashing into Taco Surf? Finally, things are growing tense for OCTA riders.
First, today's weather:
Sunny and warmer. High: 82 Low: 60.
Here are the top stories today in Huntington Beach:
- Save Surf City announced Monday that its recall effort of Council Members Barbara Delgleize and Natalie Moser fell short to "achieve the 13,282 minimum requirement to force a recall election." However, the recall effort of Council Members Kim Carr, Dan Kalmick, and Mike Posey is still ongoing. Organizers are hopeful that at the "current rate, we should easily reach the minimum requirement and substantially more." (Save Surf City)
- Do you remember when the Taco Surf Restaurant at 16281 PCH had to shut down part of its operation because a car crashed into it last year? It happened again. This time, a 22-year-old driver crashed into the Seal Beach restaurant early Sunday morning. He was "arrested on suspicion of felony DUI." The good news is that this crash "did not leave significant damage." (LB News)
- We discussed last Tuesday that OCTA's drivers are contemplating a strike over disagreements. On Monday, we learned that Teamsters Local 952 has notified OCTA officials of a possible strike. There's another meeting planned today and "if they are unable to agree on a new contract, the union has warned it could call for a strike next week." (Patch, KTLA)
- Saturday, Drums for Drummers in Santa Ana will donate "15 drum sets to 15 Southern California schools." Founded in HB in 2014, Drums for Drummers gives "low income schools a drum set for their music program." These sets have been donated to the organization and refurbished. (HB News)
- Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day is missing one of his cars. He parked the white, two-door 1962 Chevrolet Nova in front of a Costa Mesa business on Friday night. Inside the car were two electric guitars and an amp. The singer asks you to connect with the Costa Mesa PD (714-754-5280) if you have any information. (TMZ)
