20% Chance of Rain, Some Beaches Closed, Strong Winds, Thursday Surf Report and Weather Forecast
Some beaches have been closed, others have been issued general advisories and temperatures will remain relatively mild throughout the region.

Beaches from the south end of Seacoast Drive to the U.S.-Mexico border have been closed to sewage contaminated runoff and have been issued for all other San Diego County beaches due to rain over the past two days.
County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean after a rain for at least 72 hours especially near river mouths and storm drains due to the likelihood of increased bacteria levels.
Many spots are starting off with some bump on the surface due to the variable west wind. Taking a look at the waves...we have a combination of some modest northwest wind and groundswell and some increasing southwesterly energy in the water.

That is providing this stretch of sand with some fast and fairly broken-up lines, and some steep wedgy shoulders. Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing waist to shoulder high waves, with the standout combo breaks pulling head high waves with a few plus sets.
20 percent chance of rain Thursday afternoon and evening with west winds of 15 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph. 67 degree high, 57 degree low for IB. It's sweater weather in Chula Vista, Coronado and downtown San Diego with temperatures in the mid 60s, same temperature inland and 76 in Borrego Springs.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to wear at least a thin fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 60 and 63 degrees. Have at it.
