Local yacht clubs gather for a show of endurance to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation of San Diego.

Teams of local yacht club members and volunteer competitors crossed the finish line of the "Amazing race" scavenger hunt early Sunday afternoon in Coronado.

The third annual fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish foundation in San Diego generated money to help local children. Members of the , Navy Yacht Club San Diego and joined together and raised nearly $58,000 through pledges and donations.

Greeted by moral supporters and volunteers, competitors then prepared for a water chug and baseball bat head-spin contest to finish off the battle royale. Members of all three yacht clubs took part in the final game before dinner was served, along with the mellow sounds of Ron's Garage Band.

Soon after the final games were under way, it became clear that athletes were performing under extreme fatigue. With scores of neighbors and foundation members cheering them on, dizzy athletes fought to gain their bearings as they staggered toward their teammates to finish the relay race.
