Chance of Rain, Playful Waves in Monday Surf Report and Weather Forecast

Still plenty of playful waves.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. Well, the cranking surf we had is continuing to fade away, but there are still plenty of playful size waves.

Don't be surprised of course if your local lineup is a bit more crowded today due to the Labor Day holiday. We're seeing some fairly clean conditions with some texture on the surface.

As far as the surf goes, we have mainly leftover south-southwest swell and some minor northwest windswell in the mix. That recipe is offering this neck of the woods with some fast semi-wally lines, with some nice shoulders to snag.

Strange weather Monday, with a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms before 11 a.m. Expect sunshine and a high temperature of 74 degrees the rest of the day, until late Monday evening when the chance of rain and thunderstorms return to 20 percent probability.

Most spots in Imperial Beach are seeing waist to shoulder high waves, with the focal points pulling a few larger sets.

If you're going to get wet, well that water temperature has really dipped down, so throw on at least a thin fullsuit with it averaging between 61 and 63 degrees. Have fun out there!!
