The 38-year-old music teacher and high school band director was arrested Wednesday by Chula Vista police.

CHULA VISTA, CA — A Bonita Vista High School teacher and director of the school band has been arrested on suspicion of having sexual relations with a student.

Authorities became aware of the alleged crimes only recently, when a 22- year-old man came forward with the accusations. He alleged he had been molested at the Otay Lakes Road campus on various occasions at age 15 and again when he was 17, Chula Vista police Capt. Lon Tuner said.
"Sweetwater Union High School District officials are fully cooperating with the police investigation and also conducting their own internal personnel investigation into the matter," Chula Vista police said in a statement.
