Get "Fit for Fido" on March 19th at IB CrossFit
Local CrossFit Gym to Host Community Workout to Benefit Homeless Pups
8 million dogs and cats are abandoned at shelters in the United States annually. 500,000 companion animals are euthanized every year in California alone. Want to make a difference? Join F3 Athletics Home of Imperial Beach CrossFit for a “Fit for Fido” workout on Saturday, March 19th. All proceeds benefit The Rescued Dog, a volunteer-driven non-profit rescue dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need throughout California and Mexico.
“The Rescued Dog (TRD) strives to work with local area shelters and other rescue groups to create a better world for homeless pets,” said TRD Event Coordinator Kathleen Toomey. “We are a small rescue but in our 2 short years of operation we have already saved over 300 lives. 100% of the money we raise is used to help rehabilitate our rescue dogs.”
Athletes of all abilities are welcome at the “Fit for Fido” event which will feature heats for experienced CrossFit athletes as well those who are new to the sport.

“We believe that we can change the world for the better, one athlete, one workout at a time,” says Rios. “With this community mindset we can serve organizations like The Rescue Dog with their efforts in placing dogs in loving homes and educating adopters on the responsibilities of dog ownership.”
