Love Lavender at the Farmers Market
Keys Creek Lavender Farm has been at the IB Farmers Market for about a month.
Keys Creek Lavender Farm sells body products with lavender extract at the Imperial Beach Certified Farmers Market every Friday.
"Most people just like it for the scent of it or because it's associated with purple but there's so many other aspects to the herb, like it's great for culinary purposes like baking cakes or ice cream," said Kristine Rodda, who has sold Keys Creek products in IB for about a month.
The plant's aroma can also be helpful with headaches and insomnia.
More than 20 different kinds of lavender are grown on their eight-acre farm in Valley Center, where they make their own soap, essential oils and other products. Keys Creek also host tea parties, weddings, yoga classes and other events.
Their products range from lotions, burn gels and linen sprays to shampoos and conditions for people and pets.
Some but not all of Keys Creek's products can be considered organic or chemical free.
