• As Trump Pushes AI Therapy Bots, Licensed Professionals Urge Newsom to Sign Padilla's SB 903 (ca.gov) — Residents of Imperial Beach are included in a state Senate district whose representative, Steve Padilla, is pushing SB 903 to restrict advertising AI chatbots as "therapy" and require licensed professionals to oversee mental health care. Thousands of clinicians statewide are urging Governor Newsom to sign the bill, arguing it's needed as the Trump administration explores expanding AI "therapists" in Medicare.
