Photo Gallery: Little League Ends Season with Awards, Home Run Derby

The Imperial Beach Little League finished up their season Saturday morning with an awards cermony. More than 20 teams across eight divisions were honored and received trophies, from the Lookouts in the Little Sluggers division to the Indians in the Majors.

Following the ceremony, a home run derby was held for the league's top sluggers.

Challenger divsion coach Dawn Christopher, a special education teacher at , was also recognized. The IBLL had for mentally disabled children for the first time in the league's 56- year history in 2011.

In the Majors division, the Padres took first place after their final game of the season Wednesday against the Brewers as a result of a penalty protested by the Brewers manager following a grand slam by Catcher Danny Brians in the fifth inning. Pitcher Jake Borst knocked in two runs in the sixth inning . However Brewers manager Rick Wilson ultimately decided the Padres won the game and earned the title.

Home run champions for the year are Jake Borst in the Majors division and Robert Alton-Lacey in the Minor division.

Though the official season has ended, some players will continue in All-Stars and Tournament of Champions play which begins Monday.
