Jimmie Hill had touchdown runs of 31 and 28 yards, Keevin Moore scored on a 47-yard run and Kenny Nieves added a 48-yard touchdown gallop as Mar Vista scored a 28-17 win over visiring El Capitan in the season opener for both schools.

The Mariners led just 8-6 at the half, but pulled away with 20 second-half points behind a strong running game.
