Police Release Sketch of Man Suspected of Trying to Kidnap Girl in San Ysidro

The public's help is sought to identify a man suspected in the attempted kidnapping Friday of a 15-year-old girl.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Police released a sketch Wednesday of a man suspected of trying to force a girl into his car Friday in San Ysidro.

The victim, a 15-year-old girl, told San Diego police she was walking in the area of Mt. Carmel and Padre Tullio drives around 5 p.m. when a man who walked with a limp approached her, grabbed her arm and told her to get into the car.

"The victim flung her arm, freeing herself from the suspect," San Diego police Lt. Ernesto Servin said. "The suspect drove away southbound (on) 1900 Alaquinas Drive."

The man was described as Hispanic, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 7 inches tall and approximately 35 to 40 years old, with brown hair and brown eyes. His car was described as a compact, red, four-door sedan with a loud muffler. 

Anyone with information about the incident or who may have been contacted by the man was asked to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000, or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
