Sentencing Delayed for Two Former Mar Vista High School Staffers

The sentencing was delayed for the two ex-staffers both of whom pleaded guilty to having sex with students.

IMPERIAL BEACH, CA - Sentencing was delayed for former a Mar Vista High School football coach and a former school tutor both of whom pleaded guilty to having sex with students.

Former assistant football coach Edward Mendoza and former tutor Alejandro Rodriguez were scheduled to be sentenced in court Tuesday, however a judge ruled both sentencings be continued.

Mendoza, who pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with 13-year-old female, is now scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 9.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez, who pleaded guilty to having sex with an underage male student, is now scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 3, 2017.
