Sheriff's Deputies Arrest 9 In South Bay Warrant Sweep
Deputies apprehended the suspects in the cities and unincorporated areas of Imperial Beach, National City, Bonita and Lincoln Acres.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- Sheriff's deputies Saturday arrested nine people as part of a warrant sweep in the South Bay area.
Deputies apprehended the suspects in the cities and unincorporated areas of Imperial Beach, National City, Bonita and Lincoln Acres, focusing on any outstanding warrants "regardless of charge or bail amount," according to San Diego County Sheriff's Sgt. David Pocklington.
A total of 10 misdemeanor warrants were cleared as a result of the sweep.

One of the arrestees also received a new felony charge for possession of a controlled substance on jail grounds, Pocklington said.
The warrant sweep was funded by the sheriff's Warrant System Automation Trust Fund, which is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or failed to comply with a court order, Pocklington said.
