Thursday Surf and Weather Report

Almost time for a jumpstart! Expect warmer weather this weekend.

I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it's about time for a jumpstart. Yep, it's back to mainly small mode along this stretch of sand. So, if you're a grom...go get it!

The conditions are starting off fairly clean with some spots seeing a little texture on it. We have a minor combination of lingering south southwest energy and some little northwest windswell in the water. That recipe is offering some crumbly broken-up lines, with a few fun sections to pick off.

Most spots in Imperial Beach are running about knee to thigh high plus, with the standout combo breaks pulling waist high waves, with an occasional plus set. You'll want to get out some sort of small wave board.

For the weather, the National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies with clouds later in the day. High temperature of 71 degrees and low of 62.

Expect warm sunny or partly cloudy skies with warmer temperatures for the holiday weekend!

If you're planning on paddling, a thin fullsuit will do the job for that a.m session, with the water temperature averaging between a comfortable 63 and 65 degrees. Good luck out there!
