Frances Figueroa used to just make toffee during the holiday season for family and friends, that is, until she got laid off.

With her company Magical Toffee, Figueroa now makes toffee by hand to sell in farmers markets around San Diego, including in Imperial Beach every Friday 2-6 p.m.

"It's not that hard, crack, stick to your teeth type toffee. It's very mellow and a lot of people like that," she said.

The toffee comes in dark chocolate and milk chocolate, and with or without nuts.
