Wednesday Surf and Weather Report

A few playful-sized waves and sunny skies by midday.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Imperial Beach Patch surf report. We're seeing a few playful waves out there, but overall we're still stuck in that fairly small mode up and down the coast.

The conditions are looking pretty clean and glassy early on, with a continued mixture of mainly small-scale northwest windswell and some minor south-southwesterly energy in the water.

That recipe is delivering this stretch of beach with some fast sectiony lines, with a few rippable corners.  Most spots in Imperial Beach are running about knee to waist high plus, with the focal points pulling an occasional bigger set.

In the day's weather, expect things to be a bit cooler than the past few days with a high temperature of 69 degrees and clouds until midday. Low temperature of 63 in the evening.

If you're planning on paddling, break out no more than a springsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 65 and 68 degrees. Have fun out there!
