With One of The Best Views in Town, Woodies Cantina Opens its Doors Tonight
Woodies used to only be open in the summer but after new renovations the newly revamped bar and restaurant will now be open year-round.
Woodies Cantina atop the will open its doors Friday at 6 p.m. for the first time this year after passing final inspections and receiving a temporary permit Friday.
Looking out over and towards the beach and the pier, the beach front patio boasts one of the best views in IB.
As part of about $60,000 in renovations that started in the beginning of 2011, a roof was added along with new windows, furnishings, a fire place, flat screen televisions and more.

Before renovations, Woodies was only open in the summer but will now be open year-round, said owner John Haupt.
"It's designed to look like you're down in Mexico," he said. "Except there's better views here than in Puerto Nuevo."

Cocktails, martinis, beer, wine and drinks of all kinds will be served on the rooftop bar, and all menu items available downstairs at the Beach Club Grille can be purchased upstairs.
The cantina's theme will be "Puerto Nuevo Norte" after the establishment's signature $29.99 Puerto Nuevo lobster dinner, dessert and margarita special.
