• California Wolf Center plans to expand education, conservation efforts (cbs8.com) — A major expansion of the California Wolf Center is planned at the new Mariposa Ranch site off Highway 79 between downtown Julian and Lake Cuyamaca, creating a more accessible public campus in about four to five years. The project will broaden education beyond wolves to other native predators, support ongoing conservation work, and already serves as the planned venue for an Oct. 17, 2026 Wolves and Wine fundraiser in Julian.
