Locals Named to Biola University's Dean’s List
Two students from La Cañada Flintridge earned academic distinction of 3.5 or higher
Miya Joo and Anna Tichon were recently named to Biola University’s fall 2011 Dean’s List for academic excellence. Both are residents of La Cañada Flintridge. Students on the Dean’s List have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, are enrolled in twelve or more credit units, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2.
Biola University is a private Christian University in La Mirada. The college boasts 145 academic programs and six different schools, with students enrolling in a variety of degree programs. This past fall, only 33 percent of the student population achieved the academic honor of Dean’s List.
"Inclusion on the Biola Dean's List is an indication that this student is performing exceptionally well in a rigorous academic program," said Patricia Pike, vice provost for undergraduate education, in a statement. "Our Dean's List students are bright, motivated, engaged, competent, and personable. They are already demonstrating the characteristics of success that results from applied intelligence and that will support future endeavors in society, community, career, and family life."
