Track: La Cañada Takes Second in Rio Hondo Cross Country
Spartans get second-place finishes from Greene, Cwik
The boys and girls’ cross country team raced to second-place finishes in the first Rio Hondo League meet of the season Thursday at Lacy Park in San Marino.
Brendan Greene led the boys’ team by finishing second overall on the three-mile course in 16 minutes, 19 seconds. Sonja Cwik led the girls’ team by taking second overall in 18:58. Brandon Newquest (seventh, 16:54), Jonathan Skaggs (13th, 17:39), Matthew Schultz (14th, 17:56), Dillon Bromely (16th, 18:06), Chris Skaggs (21st, 18:22) and Daniel Del Valle (26th, 19:06) round out the Spartan boys’ varsity.
Anna Frederich (third, 19:22), Meghan Fuelling (eighth, 19:55), Hannah Yoho (ninth, 20:15), Eloise Dimose-Nording (14th, 21:14), Michelle Dominguez (15th, 21:14) and Caroline Fontes (18th, 21:55) round out the Spartans.
