The Genius of Edgar Meyer - 2012 Laguna Beach Music Festival

Equally acclaimed as classical performer, composer and bluegrass star, Edgar Meyer owns the double bass like no other American musician. An in-demand collaborator, he frequently works with musicians from diverse traditions who are all masters of their trade. His most recent release is The Goat Rodeo Sessions, with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, fiddler Stuart Duncan and mandolin wizard Chis Thile of Nickel Creek. Hit records have included Appalachia Waltz (also with Yo-Yo Ma) and Short Trip Home (with Joshua Bell). Edgar will present a recital of classical works plus his own compositions. Laguna Beach Music Festival is a week-long blend of concerts, salons, informal talks and social events presented by Laguna Beach Live! and the Philharmonic Society.
