Laguna Playhouse Debuts 'Thrilling' Adaptation Of Reimagined Play
The new production transforms an iconic noir script into a thrilling and comedic adaptation, organizers say.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA ā A new play production is slotted to debut at Laguna Playhouse on April 15.
The thrilling and comedic adaptation of "The Maltese Falcon," an iconic noir play written by Daniel Hammet and reimagined by playwright Matthew Salazar-Thompson, is coming to Laguna Playhouse.
The play describes a mutual search for a legendary black bird, which takes a turn as five performers exchange rapid-fire dialogue and razor-sharp timing, Laguna Playhouse organizers said.

"Together, [the characters] guide audiences through a twisting labyrinth of deception and desire alongside the infamous Sam Spade āthe definitive hard-boiled detective," Playhouse organizers said in a statement. "With prose that crackles with tension and wit, this theatrical event proves that deadly intrigue has never been so funny."
"The Maltese Falcon" debuts on April 15th with performances running through May 3.
