Vote For Laguna Beach Police's Anti Bullying Campaign
The anti-bullying message the Laguna Beach Police Department created, featuring Tony Hawk, is up for a 2018 My Hero People's Choice Award.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA —It's only a few minutes of video, but the message packs a powerful punch. In the "It All Adds Up" campaign, teens answer the question of whether or not they are bullying with text messages.
"Of course not," is the common thread in the video, but the text message "tree" tells a different story.
In the background, a youth carries the weight of those words, slumping further into despair while the "texters" tell him to "give up" and that "yeah, we all hate you."

The dichotomy of multiple teenagers texting "joke" messages, then discussing whether or not the recipient should care is chilling.
"We ask you to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves," Tony Hawk says in the short film.

Votes for the People's Choice award will be counted until Dec. 5. While it is an honor to be considered for the award, according to Captain Jeff Calvert of the LBPD, the department is even more proud to join the fight against bullying.
Please vote for the Laguna Beach Police Department and Tony Hawk's My Hero Project here until December 5.
