Cinépolis Grand Opening Delayed
Officials from the construction team report the luxury cinemas will not open Memorial Day weekend as officially anticipated.
First residents had to wait for which finally opened last week. Now their patience will be tried again as the Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas grand opening has been delayed.

According to Jason Chappell, project manager with Swinerton Builders, the opening has been pushed back to June 1.

However, he did say that the kitchen equipment has been installed, as well as the recliners in most of the locations seven auditoriums.
"We're working on many of the finishing touches now," he said from the construction site on Friday.

He added that the marquees, logos, and main signage that is outside and positioned on Camino Del Avion will be installed some time later this week. The old cement sign bearing the Edwards name was removed by crews, also on Friday.
Laguna Niguel will be the Latin American theater chain's third theater in Southern California, following Del Mar and La Costa.
Cinépolis will screen new movies in seven auditoriums that feature state-of-the-art digital equipment, HD, 3D and Surround Sound technologies. Each auditorium will seat guests in custom-designed leather recliners that offer 7 feet of space to lean back or kick up the footrest.
The seats will also come equipped with a button that summons waiters so guests don’t have to leave the auditorium to grab a snack.
The will include standard movie fare, such as popcorn and candies, plus gourmet finger foods, artisan sandwiches, alcohol and cheese.
Pricing will be comparable to the average restaurant menu, theater officials have said.
The venue will also host live-feed concerts, sporting events and more.
Movie-goers can expect to pay between $13.50 to $19.50 for regular movies, and 3D will be $22.50.
Cinépolis opened its first theater in Mexico in 1947 and has become the largest movie chain in Latin America and fourth largest in the world. Cinépolis developed its “VIP” luxury experience in 1999 and ventured into several South American countries and India, but San Diego County is its first American presence.
