Consumers Spending Mega $$$ on Holiday Decorations

Even in a sluggish economic climate, Americans will shell out $6 billion to make their homes shine for the holiday season, says the National Retail Federation.

Despite a shaky economy, 68 percent of U.S. consumers will spend more than $6 billion on Christmas decorations this year, according to the National Retail Federation.

The NRF has been started tracking sales numbers since 2005 and says this is the most we've spent in seven years.

While there might be less under the tree in terms of gifts this year, consumers are making up for it by purchasing holiday items to make their homes more festive with inexpensive lights, seasonal plants and inflatable Santas.

Around Laguna Niguel residents can find a number of deals to help dress up their homes, inside and out, for the season.
