Dana Point City Council Appoints New City Manager
Dana Point City Council met in a closed session Wednesday night to appoint a new city manager after Mark Denny announced his resignation.
DANA POINT, CA —Dana Point City Council made a hasty 24-hour notice of a special session of city council members, Tuesday, for a meeting on Wednesday evening. One agenda item was named: Public Employment of the city manager.
Council members met to accept the resignation of City Manager Mark Denny effective April 3rd, the city reported.
Why Denny tendered, his resignation was not shared. The minutes for the session have not yet been released, as of this report.

Council members then voted to negotiate an employment agreement with Mike Killebrew to lead Dana Point.
"Mike currently serves as Dana Point's Assistant City Manager and Director of Administrative Services and has been with the City for over 12 years," a spokesperson for the city said over social media. "Mike has been a resident of Dana Point over 21 years."

Denny's plans were not released. The council members' vote on Killebrew's appointment was not yet released.
