Shelton Family Cleaners has partnered with the DeFords to bring back one-price, affordable dry cleaning to the community. Established in the late 1800’s, the Shelton Family has firmly cemented its roots in the dry cleaning and laundry business, having opened several hundred locations across the country – from San Diego to Orlando and as far north as Cleveland, Ohio. Branded under various names, most notably those associated with the then-going rate, such as $1.25 Cleaners, $1.50 Cleaners and $1.99 Cleaners, Shelton Family Cleaners chose to separate itself, as the originator of one-low-price dry cleaning, from the copycats and rebrand in 2010 as Shelton Family Cleaners. Most communities across the nation have been introduced to low price cleaning, but if it is not one directly related to the Shelton Family, the commitment to quality and service, as well as the low price, cannot be related.
In 1967, John Shelton pioneered the concept of “discount” dry cleaning at .49 cents per garment, regardless of the type of garment.
