Fundraiser Planned to Remember Dancer who Was Shot

The death of Connor Bishop Zion in Laguna Niguel last year prompted the creation of a foundation which helps the disabled discover dance.

Last year, a semi-professional dancer -- armed with a knife -- was shot by deputies in a domestic dispute.

In the aftermath of event, a foundation to help the disabled discover dance has been born, and a fundraiser is planned for Friday. It’s intended to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Connor Bishop Zion’s death, remember his spirit and raise money for the foundation in his name.

Zion, who he suffered from nocturnal epilepsy according to his mother, was a youth national champion who specialized in Latin international dance steps

Come walk the red carpet to raise funds for the Connor Bishop Zion Foundation as we commemorate the one year anniversary of Connor’s tragic passing and celebrate his irrepressible spirit, enthusiastic passion for dance, and fund his expressed vision to assist children and individuals with disabilities of all ages to discover lessons he himself learned on how the benefits of ballroom dance can help turn adversity into accomplishment. This fabulous evening will include amazing performances by ballroom dance professionals, CBZ sponsored children and wheelchair dancers, great music, food, drink, raffle and silent auction items like L.A. Laker’s court-side tickets, and so much more!
