LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — An iconic office building in the heart of south Orange County may be destroyed in the coming years, The Orange County Register reported.

The 89-acre site known formally as the Chet Holifield Federal Building in Laguna Niguel was recently put back on the market by the federal government, after the property received zero bids during an auction in April.

According to the report, when the building was last put up for sale with a starting bid of $70 million, the prospective buyer was required to preserve the million-square-foot office structure designed by architect William Pereira.
