Is the St. Regis Resort and Spa for Sale?
The five-star property located on the border of Laguna Niguel and Dana Point is on the market, according to a real estate tracking newsletter.
You are in good company when you pull into valet parking at The St. Regis Resort & Spa.
At the lobby entrance sky-high palm trees and sleek Rolls Royce automobiles are common sights at the world-renowned resort located on the border of Dana Point and Laguna Niguel in Monarch Beach.
However, once again, the resort is in financial trouble and rumors in the the online Real Estate Alert newsletter report that Host Hotels and Resorts wants to buy the St. Regis from Washington Holdings.

Washington Holdings has owned the St. Regis since April 2010; in 2009 the resort faced foreclosure but Washington Holdings took control.
The estimated value of the 500-room, Tuscany-style resort is around $300 million according to the newsletter. The five-star resort also boasts a golf course, spa and is considered to be one of the priciest in Southern California.
