Clayton Feager WINS back 2 back
Clayton Feagler (16) is becoming one of the Top junior golfers in California and is continuing to impress college coaches Nationwide. Clayton is a member of the SCPGA Junior Toyota Tour Cup Series Tour. It is conducted for elite players who have earned the right to play at the highest level of competitive play by qualifying for the Tour. Clayton has been a member of the Toyota Tour Cup for 3 years.
In November of 2014, Clayton decided it was time to show the world of golf what and who he is. He entered the Toyota Tour Cup Series at Talega, a two day event held on November 15th and 16th. The field was comprised of 60 boys from all over Southern California. Clayton’s first round started with a pair of bogies, but he quickly settled in finishing the front nine with 4 birdies and an even par score of 35. Clayton rattled off 3 more birdies to shoot 34 on the back nine for a total of 69 for day one. He had a one shot lead going into the 2nd and final round of the tournament.
The second round was extremely exciting in that Clayton went Birdie, Birdie, Birdie on the first three holes to separate himself from the field. He gave a couple back on the 4th hole with a DOUBLE BOGEY but finished the front nine with a 1 under, 34. The final nine holes proved to be the most challenging for Clayton. His roller coaster back nine included just 2 pars mixed in with 4 bogeys and 3 birdies and a score of 38 for a final second round score of even par, 72. Two of those birdies came late in the final round on holes 15 and 16 to help seal the victory. His two day total of 141 (3 under par) was enough for a solid 3-stroke victory. Some noteworthy stats to mention for the two day event are: Birdies – 13, Par 5 average – 5 under, Par 4 average – Even, Par 3 average – 2 over

The following week, November 22nd and 23rd, Clayton teed it up at the Toyota Tour Cup Series Morongo at Tukwet Canyon, Champions course. The field was comprised of 90 top players from all over California. Clayton sprinted out of the gate shooting a bogey free round, 34 front 9 and 33 back nine to record a day one total of 67 and lead by 2 shots.
On the second day, Clayton gave a couple back on the first 3 holes before settling down and settling for a one over par, 37. After making the turn, Clayton realized that he needed to get back on track and recorded two birdies on holes 10 and 13. As he turned for home he held on for a bumpy finish scoring two bogies, a birdie and a par on the last 4 holes. In the end it was good enough for a second day total 72, even par and a two day total 139, 5 under and win by 7 shots.
