• Rail line closes due to big wave, high tide damage in south O.C. (dailybreeze.com) — Train service through south Orange County is suspended after storm-driven waves damaged coastal tracks, with Metrolink trains currently stopping at the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo station. Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner is also curtailed, using a bus bridge between Irvine and Oceanside while crews perform emergency stabilization and longer-term erosion protection work, with no clear reopening date yet.
