South OC Man Arrested For Hotel Homicide In Laguna Niguel: OCSD

The man faces homicide charges for his alleged role in the death of a 36-year-old woman in a Laguna Niguel hotel room.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — A South Orange County resident was arrested on Friday, Feb. 17 after he was identified as a person of interest in a homicide case in Laguna Niguel, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

San Juan Capistrano resident David Moreno, 39, was arrested Friday after an exhaustive and thorough investigation was led by the OCSD Homicide investigators, officials said.

He faces homicide charges for his accused role in the 2022 death of Griselda Petra Pinedareta.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a Laguna Niguel hotel in the 28000 block of Camino Capistrano to aid an "unresponsive" woman one of the rooms, according to a previous Patch report.

The woman was identified as 36-year-old Pinedareta. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Orange County sheriff's deputies asked the public for help in locating Moreno in October 2022, after he was declared a person of interest in the investigation.
