They're Back! Dish Network Saves 22 Blockbuster Stores
The multi-million dollar deals brings back select stores, including the location in Laguna Niguel.
Don't cut up your Blockbusterrental card quite yet. The DISH Network has bought the chain with a winning bid of $320.6 million in the auction process under the U.S. bankruptcy code. As a result of the purchase by DISH, 22 stores in various cities throughout the country that had on April 10, are re-opening on May 6.
That's good news for those who frequented the the at 32361 Golden Lantern in the Ocean Ranch II Plaza that shut its doors and began liquidating a few weeks ago.
Employees at the store were busy this afternoon restocking and getting the store ready for its re-launch next week. A large banner that read "Store Closing" just weeks ago, now screams: "Reopening Soon."

According to Kelsey Smith, a spokesperson for Blockbuster, the stores that are reopening will still operate under the Blockbuster brand.
"This is exciting news for Blockbuster and a great thing for the customers in the communities that are having their store re-opened," he said.
