Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Laguna Niguel

St. Patrick’s Day officially arrives on Saturday, March 17 and we've chosen a few places where you can celebrate.
Whether you prefer a gourmet Irish meal, a traditional Irish breakfast with eggs and sausage, a hearty Irish stew, or just a mug of green beer, you can find it in and around Laguna Niguel. Heck, there is even a St. Patrick's Day carnival where you might win free candy for a year.
As they say in Ireland, "Slainte!" (pronounced slawn-chya), which means cheers!

1. : St. Paddy's Day begins early with a pre-party at this neighborhood favorite on Friday, March 16, with a free midnight toast to ring in the celebration. On Saturday, March 17, there will be everything from green beer to Celtic dancing, and even a Leprechaun or two. Doors open at 11 a.m. Then on Sunday, March 18, enjoy the "Hair of the Dog" party to help you recover from the evening before. Enjoy a self-serve Bloody Mary bar, Irish breakfast, corned beef and hash, and more. Doors open at 11 a.m.
2. Enjoy all these dishes for $14.95 each: Corned beef and cabbage, fish n' chips with mushy peas, Irish meat pie with chips, and mushy peas, and sausage rolls and chips. Drink specials: Green beer $3, Jameson shots, $4 and Bailey's Irish coffee, $5.

3. Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel: Chef Marissa of RAYA will have one of her popular a with something green on each course. Saturday, March 17, enjoy dinner service from 6-9 p.m., $75 per person. The menu: Tuna ceviche, verde avocado with pine nuts and cilantro pumpkin seeds and jicama, requeson stuffed squash blossoms, verde garlic spinach puree, wild flower and arugula salad, grilled sous vide swordfish with mole verde and black bean puree sweet plantain rice, grilled aged New York Dungeness crab mash with chipotle truffle and green fava emulsion. Dessert is chocolate bread pudding with Jameson caramel and Guinness ice cream with sugared pistachios.
4. : The store is having a St.Paddy's Day carnival. How to participate: Get one raffle ticket for every eight chocolate gold coins that you buy. Bring your raffle tickets and the family down to the carnival, have fun, and take some pictures in your best green costume from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 17. The store will be doing raffles all day at the carnival so stick around. Check on their Facebook and Twitter that night at 5 p.m. to hear if you’ve won the GRAND PRIZE of one year’s supply of candy from Powell’s Sweet Shoppe AND to see if your photo is one of the 10 finalists for the photo contest. If you’re a finalist: send your friends to your photo on the store's Facebook by “sharing” the photo and try and get the most “Likes”! The photo with the most “Likes” at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 26 wins.
