Scripps Clinic Anderson Pavilion Wins Best Health Care Project in Southern California

Scripps Health Foundation is holding a special celebration Sept. 10 to honor Anderson Family and mark opening of newest Scripps Clinic.

The John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has been named “Best Health Care Project” in Southern California by ENR, a leading construction and engineering trade publication. The ENR award comes as Scripps Health prepares for a Sept. 10 celebration to mark the opening of the newest Scripps Clinic.

ENR California (Engineering News-Record) selected Anderson Pavilion, which opened in June, based on innovation, quality and teamwork. Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital in San Francisco was named best health care project in Northern California. As a “Best Project” winner, Scripps Anderson Pavilion is up for overall Project of the Year, which will be announced later this year.

On Sept. 10, the Scripps Health Foundation is hosting a festive outdoor evening celebration to mark the opening of the medical pavilion and honor Eileen and John “Jack” R. Anderson IV. whose leadership gift initiated construction. The clinic is named for their son. The celebration will take place next to pavilion and will feature live music, silent and live auctions and culinary stations.

The John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion features 17 medical and surgical specialties including cardiology, neurology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, dermatology, nephrology and family medicine. A pair of sky bridges connect the pavilion to the adjacent Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, allowing for quick movement of catheterization lab patients into the hospital in the event that more intensive care is required.
