San Diego resident Tim Essman, a Financial Services Representative with Wealth Strategies Group, recently won a unique award recognizing Essman’s selection as the Western regional winner in a national contest celebrating the five year anniversary of MetLife’s popular retirewise program.
retirewise is a comprehensive retirement education program offered to individuals through the convenience of the workplace. Since its inception, retirewise advisors have conducted 3,700 workshops in businesses across the country, and helped 71,000 employees define and achieve their financial and retirement goals. An important component of the program is to provide participants the opportunity to receive personal advice from trained financial advisors about their unique retirement needs. The contest was held to hear some of the most inspiring stories about how retirewise representatives have improved their clients’ lives.

Essman’s winning story involved a woman who had worked at the same company for 35 years and had a dream of retiring and visiting her Italian relatives. Working with Essman, she was able to successfully envision her future, which included the purchase of a condo in Italy. Essman has been involved with the retirewise program from its start, and has been among the top national PlanSmart representatives for several years. Essman has also received recognition as a top achiever within MetLife for as many years as he has been with the company. More importantly, he has helped many achieve their vision of a successful retirement.
