19 Guns, Heroin, Ammo Found In SWR Search, Police Say

MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta police made quite the discovery inside a local home this week, uncovering a stash of weapons, ammo and more, officials said Thursday.

Police said they sent their Parole and Probation Compliance Team (PPCT) and Special Enforcement Team (SET) to a location in the 42500 block of Sauternes Lane, which is near Washington Avenue and Kalmia Street, on Wednesday morning to do a probation search when they found the illegal items.

"The resident, Teresa O'Donnell is on probation with search terms for theft related charges," police said in a news release.

When police got to the house, they found not only O'Donnell at home, but two men.

"Officers searched the residence based upon the terms of Ms. O'Donnell's probation and located 19 guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition, heroin, and narcotics paraphernalia," police said, noting that the woman is prohibited from having access to weapons.

"Ms. O'Donnell was placed under arrest for violating her probation as well as being in possession of heroin and narcotics paraphernalia," police said. "Steven Fritz, one of the two males contacted, was also placed under arrest for the possession of heroin and narcotics paraphernalia."

The other man was let go.

O'Donnell and Fritz were both taken to the French Valley jail where they were each booked on suspicion of several charges, as follows:

  • 29800(A)(1) PC - Felon/Addict in Possession of a Firearm
  • 30305(A)(1) PC - Possession of Ammunition by Prohibited Person
• Steven Fritz (67 years) Resident of Murrieta, Charges:
  • 11350(A) HS - Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
  • 11364(A) HS - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • 11370.1(A) HS - Possession of Narcotic Controlled Substance for Sales
