2 Lake Elsinore Men Arrested In Baseball Bat Attack

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Two Lake Elsinore men were behind bars Monday after sheriff's investigators caught up with them following a baseball bat attack.
Lorenzo Guerrero, 23, and David Guerrero, 22, were taken into custody Thursday — Lorenzo was picked up in the 32000 block of Cherrywood Lane in Lakeland Village and David in the 500 block of W. Lakeshore Drive in Lake Elsinore after search warrants were served, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.
Both men are suspected in the June attack that was investigated by Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies, according to the department. A crime scene location was not provided, but the sheriff's department said both men forced entry into a residence "and assaulted the victim with a baseball bat."

The Guerrero's were "positively identified" as the suspects, the sheriff's department said.
During Thursday's search warrant services at the Cherrywood and Lakeshore addresses, illegal firearms, ammunition, and gang indicia were found, the sheriff's department said.

David Guerrero is being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of making terrorist threats, first-degree burglary, and felony vandalism, as well as several misdemeanor charges, jail records show. He is being held on $250,000 bail and is due in court Tuesday.
