3 People, 1 Dog Injured In Head-On DUI Crash In Lake Elsinore

The crash was reported at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Gunnerson Street, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Three people were hospitalized after two pickup trucks crashed head-on in Lake Elsinore, and the driver of one truck was alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol, authorities said Monday.

The crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Gunnerson Street, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

A white Toyota Tundra and silver Dodge Ram crashed head-on, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Brad Foster.

Firefighters used tools to free one person from wreckage and all three were taken to a hospital, fire officials said.

"The driver of the Tundra, Ramon Hernandez-Delgado, 59, of Lake Elsinore was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision," Foster said.

"Hernandez-Delgado was admitted to the hospital for his injuries and will be booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center when released," he said.

Help was also requested for an injured dog, fire officials reported.
