4 More Marijuana Operations Busted Up: Lake Elsinore, Wildomar

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Since May 1, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department has announced 10 marijuana raids in the cities of Lake Elsinore and Wildomar. Thousands of plants have been seized and arrests have been made.

The four latest busts netted an arrest and more than 4,000 marijuana plants discovered. The most recent was Wednesday at a Lake Elsinore home in the 30900 block of Via Lakistas. During the operation, deputies discovered the entire residence had been transformed into a marijuana cultivation site.

Approximately 800 marijuana plants were found and the home's electrical system was illegally altered, causing a severe fire hazard, according to the sheriff's department. Southern California Edison shut off the power due to the dangerous wiring.

No arrests were announced.

On Saturday, deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 31000 block of Canyon View Drive in Lake Elsinore and discovered a marijuana cultivation operation with more than 500 marijuana plants and an electrical system that had been illegally wired, according to the sheriff's department.

Lake Elsinore Code Enforcement/Building and Safety deemed the house uninhabitable, and SCE cut the power.

Cam Van Vo, 45, of Lake Elsinore was arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and utility theft, according to the sheriff's department.

Also on Saturday, deputies raided an "illegal outdoor marijuana cultivation site" in the 33000 block of Tranquil Lane in Wildomar. Approximately 340 marijuana plants were found. No arrests or citations were announced.

Additionally, a May 14 raid at a home in the 36000 block of Verbena Road in Lake Elsinore was announced Saturday by the sheriff's department.

Deputies found that the entire residence had been turned into a marijuana cultivation site. More than 1,400 plants were discovered, and the home's electrical was illegally wired. Lake Elsinore Code Enforcement/Building and Safety deemed the house uninhabitable, and SCE cut power to the residence. No arrests were announced.
