Fire officials say they spotted "heavy smoke and fire coming from a second story window of a single-family dwelling."

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Fire officials are investigating the cause of a house fire in Lake Elsinore this week that ripped through a local family's home, displacing them. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the blaze broke out Monday around 4:49 p.m. at a residence in the 19000 block of Silverwood Drive. That's near Grand Avenue and Corydon Road.
"The first arriving engine company reported heavy smoke and fire coming from a second story window of a single family dwelling," fire officials said.
Though the fire was ultimately contained within about an hour to the home's laundry room and two bedrooms, it was red-tagged, officials reported.
