Active-Shooter Drills: Deputies Train At RivCo High School
The exercise spanned four days with a variety of realistic scenarios.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — Deputies recently participated in four days of active- shooter training drills that consisted of realistic, close-range, lethal and non-lethal scenarios at Norco High School in Norco, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
The operation, that simulated an active-shooter event, ran from July 22 to July 25 and was a joint effort between the Jurupa Valley Station Training Unit, School Resource Officer Unit, Special Enforcement Team, patrol and investigative personnel along with the Corona-Norco Unified School District, according to deputies.
"Under simulated stress, the scenarios created a positive training environment and helped department members strengthen the critical skills needed to respond to and effectively operate during such an event," the department said.
