Air Quality In Lake Elsinore Suffers During Heat Wave
Ground-level smog and dust are expected to settle in across the Inland Empire as a high pressure system lingers through Labor Day weekend.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The National Weather Service advised residents to be wary of poor air quality across the region at least through Sunday as a heatwave parks over the region.
A potentially record-breaking heatwave has led the Air Quality Management District to alert Lake Elsinore's ozone-sensitive residents to play it safe when it comes to being outside in the heat of the day, at least through Tuesday.
When air quality is in the unhealthy range, everyone may begin to experience health effects, an Air Quality Management District spokesperson said in a written statement.

Those at risk include members of sensitive groups who may experience more serious health effects. This includes people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children.
Anyone in the sensitive group category should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion. All residents should limit prolonged or heavy exertion during an unhealthy air quality event, the district spokesperson advised.
