Ax, Baseball Bat Beating Leads To 3 Lake Elsinore Arrests

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Three transients were arrested Friday on suspicion of attempted murder following the August beating of a man in Lake Elsinore, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Robert Christopher Estrada, 18, Destiny Faith Elliott, 21, and Andrew Avila, 28, all transients who were living in Lake Elsinore, are suspected in the ax and baseball bat beating of a local transient in the 200 block of Graham Avenue.
The victim, who was not identified, has been hospitalized since the incident that was reported around 4:55 a.m. Aug. 18, the sheriff's department announced.

After an extensive investigation, deputies arrested Estrada around 6 p.m. at Main Street Park. He was booked into Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime. He's being held on $750,000 bail and is due in court Wednesday, according to jail records.
Elliot was arrested at the same time on Avenida de Sereno on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime. She was being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on $750,000 bail and is due in court Wednesday, according to jail records.

Avila was already in custody at the Cois Byrd Detention Center on an unrelated crime, and is now facing additional charges of conspiracy to commit attempted murder and mayhem, according to the sheriff's department.
