Coroner IDs LA Man Who Drowned In Canyon Lake
Pablo Lopez, 21, swam out from the north shore around 3:59 p.m. Sunday, became distressed, and then disappeared under water.
CANYON LAKE, CA — The body of a 21-year-old man who swam out to the middle of Canyon Lake and drowned has been found, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported Tuesday.
The coroner's bureau identified the victim as Pablo Lopez of Los Angeles.
Eyewitnesses told sheriff's deputies that the man swam out from the north shore around 3:59 p.m. Sunday, became distressed, and then disappeared under water.

People in the area searched, and a sheriff's helicopter was called in to aid in the efforts, but due to water conditions, Lopez was not found.
"Unfortunately, the victim was located submerged under the water and deceased," the sheriff's department reported. The time the body was found was not immediately available.
