Deadly Lake Elsinore Crash Reported

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — One person is dead Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle and bicyclist crashed in Lake Elsinore, the fire department says. The crash was reported around 4 p.m. in the area of Railroad Canyon Road and Westridge Way, according to April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"Firefighters arrived on scene and confirmed one victim perished at the scene," she said.

Details about the crash are limited at this time, and the sheriff's department is investigating.

City officials said the eastbound side of Railroad Canyon Road was expected to be closed at Grape Street as a result of the crash. That closure was expected to last until "at least 9 p.m."
