Fatality Reported In Ramona Expressway Crash

LAKEVIEW, CA — One death is being reported following a crash on the Ramona Expressway in the Lakeview area early Friday morning. Fire officials say a motorist was killed in the wreck involving a vehicle and a large truck.

"The first arriving engine company reported a passenger vehicle had struck a semi truck and the sole occupant of the passenger vehicle perished on scene," said Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The collision was reported at 4:20 a.m. in the area of the Ramona Expressway and Bridge Street, she said .

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
