Firefighters Douse Small Brush Fire Near Lake Mathews
The Riverside County Fire Department made quick work of a vegetation fire that broke out near Lake Mathews Saturday just before noon.
LAKE MATHEWS, CA — Firefighters stopped the spread of a three-acre brush fire that ignited near Lake Mathews Saturday.
The fire was reported at 11:49 a.m. near Tin Mine and Eagle Valley roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Eight engine crews, two bulldozers and two air tankers were initially deployed to the scene to quell the slow-moving fire, fire officials said.
